About Andys Photography

Hi – I’m Andy, a portrait photographer based in Northampton and serving the surrounding areas of Northamptonshire. My photography style is Documentary, which means I capture natural, candid moments rather than posed shots, although I do capture posed shots if you feel comfortable to do so. . I believe that the best photos are the ones that capture real emotions and memories, and I strive to create images that will last a lifetime.

My journey into photography started in 2014 where I was mainly shooting Landscapes.  My hobbies at the time was Travel,  Hiking and wild camping but did not realise there was 1 thing missing. And that was A Camera. 

Since then,  I ventured onto many other genres of photography,  Macro, portraits and wildlife.  I have yet to put the camera down and still today (2024) its part of me.  I just love photography.  As much as I enjoyed Macro and Wildlife,  the only Genre that brought the same feeling of success was portraits.  Capturing the fun and joy of people brings back all the happy feelings when I captured my favorite shots of Landscapes.

Keeping Landscapes as a hobby,  I decided to go into portraits where I can create memories for people that will last a life time.  The emotion you felt at that time, is the emotion you will feel when you look back on the images.   That brings me so much happiness.
